IB Digital Society courses

IB Digital Society (first exams 2024) studies digital systems and their impact through three lenses: concepts such as change, identity, power, and values and ethics; content such as data, algorithms, networks, media and artificial intelligence; and contexts from cultural and economic to health and political. Standard Level covers 150 teaching hours, Higher Level 240. Paper 1 asks structured questions and Paper 2 is source-based. The internal assessment is the inquiry project: a process document of up to 1,500 words and a recorded presentation of up to 10 minutes. HL adds the challenges and interventions extension — global well-being, governance and human rights, and sustainable development — examined in Paper 3, which is built on a pre-released statement.

Offered at Standard and Higher Level; each course below says which.
