IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches courses

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Maths AA, first exams 2021) is organised into five topics: number and algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, statistics and probability, and calculus. Standard Level covers 150 teaching hours, Higher Level 240. HL adds material in every topic, including complex numbers, proof by induction, vectors in three dimensions, Bayes' theorem, differential equations and Maclaurin series, and a Paper 3 of two extended problem-solving questions worth 20%. Paper 1 is taken without a calculator and Paper 2 with one. The internal assessment, 20% at both levels, is the mathematical exploration: an individual written investigation of an area of mathematics, around 12 to 20 pages long.

Offered at Standard and Higher Level; each course below says which.
